How to use the free tests before the E.ON assessment

Which test to start with, how to sit it, and what to do with your report afterwards.

Which free test should you take first for E.ON?

Start with the test your E.ON invitation asks for. Publishers do not all use the same names, so look for the kind of test in the wording. Abstract reasoning can mean any of our logical, inductive or diagrammatic tests, and a mechanical comprehension test is what we call mechanical reasoning.

If the invitation has not arrived yet, begin with numerical reasoning, which most large employers set, and then try verbal. The timer starts with the first question, so open a test when you can give it the whole time limit.

How should you take a free E.ON practice test?

Take it as you would take the real one: in one sitting, somewhere quiet, with the timer on and the solutions switched off. The questions are only new to you once, so the first attempt is the one that shows where you stand.

Keep an eye on the clock as you work. If a question is taking too long, pick the answer that looks most likely and move on, because a question still open when time runs out earns nothing. The solutions will be waiting in the report at the end.

For illustration only. We are not affiliated with E.ON, and our practice tests are not its own.

What should you do after a free E.ON test?

Go through the report before anything else. It shows your score against the test's pass mark and your percentile among other people who took the same test, and review mode opens every question with the correct answer and the reasoning behind it.

Then sort what went wrong. A wrong answer points to a method the solution can show you, and a question you did not reach points to pace. For new questions, take another test of the same kind from our packages, which hold up to 16 tests each.

  • Dan Morgan, Bristol

    Revolut

Revolut ops role had a logical test. Did the inductive and diagrammatic ones here for a week. Passed first go. Decent price too.

  • Chiara

Good. Sometimes the explanation is a bit short for the harder questions but you can usually work it out from the steps given.

  • William Hartley

    DB numerical

Deutsche Bank numerical test passed. The practice tests here are a close match in difficulty and the timer got me used to the pace. Reports after each test are detailed.

  • Sana

Best numerical practice ive found and I tried 3 sites. The solutions show the quickest method not just the correct one.

  • Felix Baumann, Berlin

    BMW

Good preparation for the BMW online assessment, the numerical and inductive parts in particular. The real one had an English language section which obviously this doesn't cover. Still good.

  • Ravi Chandran, Coventry

Philips graduate programme. Inductive reasoning section is what I came for. Six inductive and six diagrammatic tests here, did each twice. Real test was the same flavour of pattern questions. Through to the next round.

No. Employers keep their test questions private, and we are not connected with E.ON. What our free tests have in common with an online assessment is the format: the kinds of question the main test publishers use, against a similar clock, so the layout and the pace will not be new to you.
