BP Plc (until May 2001 ‘British Petroleum’) is an integrated oil and gas company that provides customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heating and lighting, lubricants to power engines and petrochemicals used to make everyday items such as paints, clothing and packaging. The company operates in two segments: Upstream and Downstream. The Upstream segment trades in natural gas, including liquefied natural gas, electricity and is also responsible for its oil and natural gas exploration activities. One of the first stages of the recruitment process is filling in the application form on BP Careers website.
The online application form is usually presented as a questionnaire with the option of importing data from a LinkedIn or CV file.
The applicant is required to provide information about work experience, education, skills and other necessary details.
